DK develops applications, their architectures and whatever customers need for a wide variety of technology platforms: JavaEE, .NET, ColdFusion, Ruby. He implements and tailors software development methodologies and best development practices with an emphasis on iterative and agile practices.
DK has been a professional software developer and architect since PCs had 512K of RAM. He holds an M.S. equivalent degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, with Honors, from Moscow State University. In 2002, while working with the agile guru Dave Astels, he saw the agile light, which illuminated the dark ways of traditional software development processes ;-).
Today DK is active in IT community as a member and an occasional speaker at AgileDC (D.C. Area Agile Software Development User Group), NOVAJUG (Northern Virginia Java User Group) and others. He enjoys learning new languages and technologies, listening to a variety of podcasts, and speaking to fellow developers about his passions. In those few spare moments that are left from a digital and a family life, DK enjoys playing and watching tennis, soccer and chess; reading fiction and about politics.
